COVID-19 DENVER FAQs
Denver Dog Joggers (DDJ) has made a number of changes in how we provide service given the current situation with COVID-19. Helping to keep you, your family, and your dog(s) safe is our top priority!
Q: Does DDJ practice social distancing?
A: Yes. Our team members maintain at least a 6' bubble during the entirety of each session - while in your home and out and about with your pup!
Q: Does DDJ require their team members to wear a facial covering?
A: As of September 2022, our team members are no longer required to wear face masks when entering clients' homes. However, we will continue to wear masks inside when requested by the client.
Q: Does DDJ provide facial coverings for their team members?
A. Yes. We provide masks free of charge to our team members if they need them.
Q: What is DDJ's policy regarding hygiene for its team members?
A: DDJ provides hand sanitizer for our team members. Team members must sanitize their hands before and after each session, and are told to avoid touching their face and shaking hands with anyone while servicing canine clients for DDJ.
Q: How does DDJ monitor whether any team member is showing COVID-19 symptoms?
A: Team members must certify they were "COVID-19 symptom free" at the end of each session. They're also required to take time off if they become symptomatic and in the event of a positive COVID-19 test result.
Q: What if my DDJ Runner/Walker tests positive for COVID-19?
A: DDJ will contact each client the team member has serviced in the past two weeks.
Q: I'll be working from home and I'd like to know when my DDJ Runner/Walker will arrive so I can limit any physical interaction with him/her. What should I do?
A: You can arrange to receive a call from the DDJ office 5-10 minutes before the team member arrives to service your dog. For example, some clients put their dogs in the sun room to limit any physical interaction with DDJ team members.
Q: What other steps can I take, as a client, to make the session as safe as possible?
A: If you have hand sanitizer, please consider leaving some close to the door where we enter your home. Also, please avoid contact with our staff - even if your dog is being a little reluctant to leave because you are home.
Q: Should I wear a mask when someone arrives to service my dog(s)?
A: DDJ is not currently asking clients to do this. If you're more comfortable wearing a mask, please do so.
Q: What should I do if I contract COVID-19 or am a close contact of someone who develops symptoms and/or tests positive?
A: DDJ will inform any team members who have provided service to you within the last two weeks and encourage them to get a COVID-19 test.
Q: Can dogs catch and spread COVID-19?
A: Please refer to this Centers for Disease Control website, which is regularly updated: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/animals.html
